Where in France should you organize your pop-up store? The capital of gastronomy, Lyon has a population of over 500,000. Ideally situated in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, it is considered to be a geographical crossroads of France. Halfway between the Massif Central and the Massif Alpine, it occupies a strategic position for north-south traffic in Europe. As a result, Lyon is often used as a stopover on the way from one point to another, attracting many visitors.

The history of this industrial town is characterised by three areas: textiles, particularly silk; the chemical industry and, more recently, the image industry. It has also focused on cutting-edge technologies such as pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies.

As the second-largest student city in France, Lyon boasts a number of major universities and schools, enabling it to organise a wide range of festive and cultural events. It also has a rich architectural heritage, with the Vieux Lyon district, the Fourvière hill, the Presqu'île and the slopes of the Croix-Rousse all renowned by locals and tourists alike.

Thanks to this diversity, the city of Lyon has become so attractive that it has been voted the most attractive city in France. In recent years, the city has seen the emergence of a number of pop-up stores, notably around Place Carnot and Place des Jacobins. Within the city, there is also a Village des Créateurs, at the Grand Hôtel Dieu, whose role is to support start-ups, demonstrating the strong inclination of local residents towards trends.
