To celebrate 30 years of its iconic camera, the Ricoh GR, Ricoh Imaging chose our space at 8 rue Charles-François Dupuis. For two weeks, the brand turned the pop-up into a true destination for photography. On the ground floor, exhibitions of images shot on the GR. Downstairs, masterclasses and talks. And in between, meetups and events that kept the space buzzing. More than a showcase for its flagship product, it became a place that tells its story and brings it to life.

The Ricoh GR is turning 30. To mark the occasion, Ricoh Imaging took over our space in the Haut Marais with a clear goal: to bring the camera to life, not just put it on display.
The pop-up was fully branded in Ricoh Imaging and GR colours. From the street, the window graphics set the tone, featuring the brand's identity, the camera itself and a timeline of every model, from the GR1 to the GR IV.
One venue, three uses. On the ground floor, a gallery of photos shot on the GR, alongside a selection of vintage models. Downstairs, a space for meetups where photographers and imaging professionals shared how they use the camera, through talks and masterclasses. Many sessions were fully booked.
For two weeks, the pop-up became a true gathering place for the GR community.
Founded in Tokyo in 1936, the Ricoh Group has grown over the decades into a global technology company. Today it operates in more than 200 countries and regions, with businesses ranging from printing to optics and IT services.
Its photography story began at Asahi Optical, the company that would later become Pentax. In 1952, it launched the Asahiflex I, Japan’s first SLR with a pentaprism, a major step forward in optical clarity.
The two paths came together in 2011, when Ricoh acquired Pentax. Ricoh Imaging, the group’s dedicated imaging subsidiary, was founded in 2013. That same year, it unveiled the Ricoh THETA, the world’s first all-in-one 360° camera for consumers.
In 2014, Ricoh Imaging Europe, headquartered in France, became the brand’s regional hub for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, bridging Japanese engineering with the needs of photographers across these markets.
At the heart of the lineup is the GR series. Compact, discreet, and equipped with an APS-C sensor and a fast fixed lens, the camera has become a benchmark for street photography.
